Close-up view of the battery pouch. The conductive thread sewn in the middle of the felt pouch to make power delivery possible.

Formstorming Activity #2

First heat set insert test. First working button-like object. First working button-like object. Sketching different physical interface ideas Making of the first working button-like object. Thank you spring and glue. Sketching digital interfaces. Using soldering iron to smooth the plastic. Didn't go too well. Making a gamepad prototype. Cutting felt. This glue is amazing and it doesn't dry up in the bottle. Almost there with the prototype. Sewing conductive thread into felt component. Sewing continues... Marking the fabric for later cuts. Marking the fabric for later cuts. Sketches on fabric to help with the cuts. Using soldering iron to insert heat set inserts. Fun! Bad calculations lead to improper housing. This didn't fit. Different button prototypes. Discount frozen chicken burger patties from Rabba. Let's not forget our meals as we work. Sketching out ideas for button mechanisms. Measuring the Makey Makey for the housing. Vellum paper taped on cutting mat is came really useful for making technical drawings. Working on parts on Autodesk Fusion 360 A bunch of bricks I designed to figure out heat set insert mechanics. Preparing sound effects for the p5js sketch. Did not have time to implements these. Oh well.
